Business ethos
Ramsay Cornish is a sustainable business, we match our business model with a broad auction calendar and international marketing maximising the return for our clients. Our Homes & Interiors sales allow us to auction modern and lesser antique furniture and objects meaning that everything that can be sold, is sold, with our specialist sales representing curated collections of fine art, antiques, silver, jewellery etc. Businesses which partner with us, carrying out house clearances/removals share our ethos with unsaleable items being distributed to various charities and disposal kept to a minimum. As part of our committment to sustainable living, we have re-wilded our land, adjoining the saleroom, planting trees and insect friendly plants, this area now supports an active wildlife community including a thriving bee population.
Outreach
Our valuers regularly offer talks/valuation events to a variety of interested groups in and around Edinburgh and East Lothian including; Probus, the Rotary Club, Edinburgh University Alumni, retirement communities, the National Trust, the Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh to name a few. Please contact us if you are interested in arranging a talk for your group.
We are also pleased to participate in careers events talking to fifth and sixth year pupils and further education students, encouraging them to follow a route into an exciting career within a sustainable business, at a variety of educational bodies including George Watson's College, Edinburgh College of Art and most recently at Daniel Stewarts Melville College, Edinburgh.
