Lounging in the boot of a car amongst woodworking tools, Martin immediately recognised the teapot as early 18thc. creamware in good condition. It's connection to Edinburgh added to its appeal and auction with the gilded motto Chris Salter, Edinborough, 1791 enclosed within a gilt scrolling swag (restorations), and went on to sell for £600.
