Items such as this badly chipped and damaged cup, brought for sale with a consignment of mixed ceramics, really proves the value of sharp eyed specialists.  Our in-house team identified it as a rare 17thc English Delft caudle cup, probably London, with motto "Be Merry and Wise", it went on to attract a huge amount of interest resulting in a sale price of £15,800*.
