It is important to us that you feel safe when you view our sales, collect lots and deliver goods to sale.
Viewing: Our auctions will be available for viewing from Tuesday to Friday from 10.30am to 4.00pm. All viewing will be by appointment and we will schedule hourly slots with no more than four people viewing within each slot. We benefit from space at Ramsay Cornish and so this willl allow you to feel quite safe and secure while viewing. We can of course allow people with particular concerns or health issues to view our sales outwith these times in private. Also if you need to view out of formal hours, please contact us and we will try to accomodate you. Please note that for now, we are operating with a reduced staff. The building is airy and we have hand santisers at the entrance and within the building, we also regularly and after each viewing clean any surfaces such as showcases.
Auctions: For now our sales will remain online only although as usual we are more than happy to accept absentee or phone bids. Auction catalogues will be available on our website and on thesaleroom.com for one full week to allow you to view lots at your leisure. If you register to bid on thesaleroom via the green button on our catalogue page you will benefit from a reduced online fee.
Collecting items bought at auction: We want to make this as easy and as safe as possible. As we are still running a busy sale calendar, we would require that all goods are collected by the Wednesday following each sale. We would suggest that you phone ahead so we can ensure that we have your lot ready for you and can pass it out to you at the entrance (no contact). For larger goods, we can recommend carriers who can offer no contact delivery. For buyers who are further afield, we recommend Mailboxes Edinburgh but can also arrange to have goods sent by post. We have found an excellent courier who does bi-weekly trips to Scotland and can deliver anywhere between Edinburgh and the south coast of England, including London. Payment: our payment terms are - cash, cheque or bank transfer. Due to the current situation we recommend payment by bank transfer or cheque.
Dropping off goods for sale: please be assured that we are still available to receive goods for sale and to give valuations. Social distancing advice will be followed at all times.
Valuations: our valuer is able to visit you in your own home observing all social distancing guidelines. He comes complete with mask, gloves and sanitiser! Equally you may prefer a virtual valuation where our valuer can appraise goods in your home via your iphone or computer with eg. facetime.
