When a bottle of Lagavulin whisky turned up in a client's garage, we were immediately aware of it's potential value. However with an item like this there are many considerations, not least the fact that there are many fakes on the market. Consequently we undertook a period of research which involved sending the bottle for carbon dating to verify the age of the contents and researching the source of the whisky. The investment market for fine wines and whisky is buoyant but suspicious, with the support of this research buyers had confidence to bid and the whisky realised a sale price of £11,500.
