Valuation Services

Ramsay Cornish offers a full valuation service for professional and private clients.

In person valuations:  visit our offices where one of our team of knowledgeable specialists will be happy to appraise your items and give you a realistic auction estimate.  We are open from 9.30 to 5pm Monday to Friday and a valuer is always on hand to assist.

Email valuation: simply email in some images of items which you are interested in selling, we will reply by email or phone.  For items which require more thorough viewing we may follow up with a home visit arranged at your convenenience

Home visits:  for whole or partial house contents, collections or specialist items, it is often more appropriate to arrange a confidential appraisal by one of our team of valuers available throughout Scotland.  We may ask you to email some images ahead of our visit to begin the conversation.  Please email or phone our offices to arrange a suitable time.  

Inheritance Tax (probate):  we offer a complete valuation service for the administration of estates throughout the UK providing a full valuation compliant with Capital Taxes Office requirements. Our service is individually tailored with a fast turnaround.  Ramsay Cornish can also arrange for full clearance of properties, delivery or storage of bequests, or delivery to sale.

Virtual valuations: we now offer a free auction valuation from your own home via your smartphone or tablet, with no obligation to sell.   Or you can always access our online valuation service should you prefer. To access our virtual valuation service simply book an appointment for us to call you on your smartphone or tablet either on Facetime, Whatsapp video call, Zoom or Messenger.  Guide us round the items you wish to have valued using your smartphone or tablet.  Our valuers are always happy to share their enthusiasm and knowlege and will talk you through the item(s) you wish to discuss.  He may ask you to zoom in on a detail or signature or maybe to give some information about the family history of the item(s).
